Welcome to the Southern Cruisers Riding Club
Chapter 282, the Highland Rim Chapter

Since you took the time to join a riding club, let me assure you that we DO ride. We all hope that you plan to as well. Our chapter averages over 2500 miles a year on our scheduled chapter rides, plus thousands of additional miles, attending events, just traveling, doing overnight/weekend rides and much more. Please come on out and join us as often as you can. The chapter maintains an on-line forum at http://forums.delphiforums.com/rap454/start . The forum is free to join and we use it extensively to plan rides and events. Please come on in and check out.

As a new member, there are a few things that you need to know.

First and foremost, our rides are about BEING SAFE.
Anyone acting in an unsafe manner on a chapter ride, will be asked to leave.

Second, while the SCRC is a free, ride what you brought, type of club, there is a modest committment required. Should the 1st or 2nd Officer fail to hear from you or see you for 6 months, you may be removed from membership.

Third, this is a RIDING club, and we travel in organized groups. We ask, for your safety and ours, that you have at least 1000 miles of "seat time" on a motorcycle, before you attempt to ride in a group environment.

If you are a new rider, we will be happy to join you, 1-on-1, for some rides to help you increase your skill level. As a new rider, you realize the how much of your time, and capability is spent learning to control the motorcycle, and the last thing you need is to have to worry about is maintaining speed and spacing in a group environment.

After you have mastered your motorcycle, please join us on one of our "Newcomer Rides", that will be held periodically throughout the year. These will be easy rides, with a limited number of riders. These rides will emphasize formation riding, hand signals, spacing, etc., as well as be good rides, in their own right.

Please take a few minutes and read the SCRC Constitution and the SCRC Guidelines for Group Riding Safety and once again,

Welcome to the SCRC
